'ସ୍ନାନା ଯାତ୍ରା' (ସ୍ନାନ ମହୋତ୍ସବ): ଜ୍ୟେଷ୍ଠ ମାସର ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣିମା ଦିନ ଭଗବାନ ଜଗନ୍ନାଥଙ୍କର ଏକ ବିଶେଷ ତଥା ପବିତ୍ର ପର୍ବ | ଏହି ପର୍ବକୁ 'ଦେବସନନ୍ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣିମା' ବା 'ସ୍ନାନା ଯାତ୍ରା' (ସ୍ନାନ ମହୋତ୍ସବ) କୁହାଯାଏ | ସ୍କନ୍ଦ ପୁରାଣଙ୍କ ଅନୁଯାୟୀ ଯେତେବେଳେ ରାଜା ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରଦ୍ୟୁମନା କାଠ ଦେବତା ସ୍ଥାପନ କରିଥିଲେ ସେତେବେଳେ ସେ ଏହି ସ୍ନାନ ସମାରୋହର ଆୟୋଜନ କରିଥିଲେ। ସ୍ନାନା ଯାତ୍ରାର ପୂର୍ବ ଦିନରେ ଭଗବାନ ଜଗନ୍ନାଥ, ପ୍ରଭୁ ବାଲାଭଦ୍ର ଏବଂ ଦେବୀ ସୁଭଦ୍ରାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିମୂର୍ତ୍ତି ସହିତ ସୁଦର୍ଶନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିମୂର୍ତ୍ତି ମୁଖ୍ୟ ମନ୍ଦିରର ଭିତର ଅଭୟାରଣ୍ୟରୁ ଏକ ଶୋଭାଯାତ୍ରାରେ (ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଭାଷାରେ 'ପାଣ୍ଡି' କୁହାଯାଏ) ବାହାରକୁ ଅଣାଯାଇଥାଏ; ସ୍ନାନା ମାଣ୍ଡାପା (ସ୍ନାନ ପାଣ୍ଡାଲ) |
ଏହି ସ୍ନାନ ପ୍ଲାଟଫର୍ମ ଆନନ୍ଦ ବଜାରର ଉତ୍ତର-ପୂର୍ବରେ ଏବଂ ମନ୍ଦିରର ବାହ୍ୟ କାନ୍ଥ ବ୍ୟତୀତ (ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଓଡିଆ ଭାଷାରେ ମେଘନାଡା ପାଚେରୀ କୁହାଯାଏ) ଅବସ୍ଥିତ | ଏହି ସ୍ନାନ ପ୍ଲାଟଫର୍ମର ଲମ୍ବ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥ 76 ଫୁଟ | ଏହା ଏତେ ଉଚ୍ଚତାରେ ଯେ ମନ୍ଦିର ବାହାରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିବା ପରିଦର୍ଶକମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଦେବତାମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ଏକ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ଦୃଶ୍ୟ ପାଆନ୍ତି | ଏହି ଶୁଭ ଦିନରେ ସୁଆରା ଏବଂ ମହସୁଆରା ଏକ ସମାରୋହରେ ଯାଇ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ କୂଅରୁ 108 ହାଣ୍ଡି ଜଳ ଆଣିବାକୁ ଯାଇଥାନ୍ତି (ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଓଡିଆ ଭାଷାରେ 'ସୁନା କୁଆ' କୁହାଯାଏ) | ବର୍ଷକୁ ଥରେ ଏହି କୂଅରୁ ପବିତ୍ର ଜଳ ଅଣାଯାଇଥାଏ |

Rosasala : The Rosasala or the kitchen of Lord Jagannath is regarded as the greatest kitchen in the world. Here, rice and vegetables are cooked simultaneously by earthen pots kept over one another. The cooked rice and curry are offered to God as Bhoga which becomes Mahaprasada after the offering is made.
Kalpavata : Among the important shrines in the southern side, the Astadhatu (made of eight metals) image of Nilamadhava in the shape of Lord Jagannath is important. The Kalpabata is another notable thing inside the temple complex where the women, desirous of a son, bind threads in the branches of that great banyan tree.
Anandabazar : The Anandabazar is another notable site inside the temple complex. Here, the Mahaprasada of the Lord is sold. At that place, irrespective of caste and creed take the Prasada together. Besides, Anandabazara, the Koili Vaikuntha, Nilachala Upabana (garden) and a museum (recently opened) etc. are other noticeable features of the temple of Lord Jagannath.
'Snana Yatra' (Bathing Festival) : A very special and sacred festival of Lord Jagannath held in the full-moon day of the month of Jyestha. This festival is known as 'Devasnan Purnima' or 'Snana Yatra' (Bathing Festival). According to Skanda Purana when King Indradyumna installed the wooden deities he arranged this bathing ceremony. On the previous day of Snana Yatra the images of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra along with the image of Sudarshana are ceremonially brought out from the inner sanctum of the main temple in a procession (called 'Pahandi' in local language) to the Snana Mandapa (Bathing pandal).
This bathing platform is situated to the north-east of Ananda Bazar and besides the outer wall of the temple (called Meghanada Pacheri in local Odia language). The length and breadth of this bathing platform are 76 feet. It is at such a height that visitors standing outside the temple also get a clear view of the Deities. On this auspicious day, the Suaras and Mahasuaras go in a ceremonial procession to fetch 108 pots of water from the Golden well (called 'Suna Kua' in local Odia language). The holy water is drawn from this well once a year.
